Creating the Fifth Bugatti T57G
The Bugatti T57G 'Tank' is one of Bugatti's most iconic racing cars, with only four originally built. This project began with an ambitious request from a client to create a fifth.
Using an original Bugatti T57 chassis, factory drawings, and a 3D scan of a scale model, we recreated the distinctive T57G bodywork by hand-forming it using traditional techniques. We also built a complete racing-specification engine from the original factory drawings.
Once the chassis, mechanical components and body were complete, the car was assembled, finished and carefully aged to give it the appearance of a genuine period racing car.
The finished T57G made its track debut at the 2014 Goodwood Members' Meeting, where it was driven by Stephen Gentry and performed exceptionally well.
More recently, the T57G travelled to St. Moritz, where it was displayed on the famous ICE snowy track as part of the Concours of Elegance in 2025, another fitting setting for this unique Bugatti racing car.
