Preserving the Legacy of Vintage Bugatti
Gentry Restorations is one of the world's leading specialists in the restoration, engineering and preservation of vintage Bugatti cars.
Founded in 2000 by Malcolm and son Stephen Gentry, the company began as a small family workshop with a simple ambition: to restore Bugattis to the highest possible standard while remaining faithful to Ettore Bugatti's original engineering philosophy.
More than two decades later, that same commitment to authenticity, craftsmanship and engineering excellence continues to define everything we do.
Today, Gentry Restorations is trusted by collectors, museums and private owners across the globe, with a reputation built on precision, integrity and an unrivalled understanding of these remarkable cars.

The Gentry Story
What began in a modest Oxfordshire barn has grown into an internationally recognised restoration business.
As demand for our expertise increased, so too did our facilities. In 2005, we relocated to our purpose-built workshops on the Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire border, creating one of the most comprehensively equipped vintage Bugatti restoration centres in the world.
Our workshop spans more than 1,200 square metres and houses dedicated areas for vehicle restoration, precision machining, specialist fabrication, component storage and parts manufacture. This investment enables us to undertake every stage of a restoration in-house, ensuring complete quality control from initial inspection through to final assembly. We typically have 20 Bugattis at our workshops undergoing restoration, servicing and event preparation.
Experience You Can Trust
Managing Director Stephen Gentry has devoted more than three decades exclusively to vintage Bugattis.
His extensive knowledge of the history, design philosophy and engineering principles established by Ettore Bugatti has earned him an international reputation amongst collectors and enthusiasts alike.
Supported by a highly skilled team of automotive engineers, precision machinists and parts specialists, Gentry Restorations offers more than 150 years of combined Bugatti restoration experience.
Every member of our team shares the same objective: to preserve these extraordinary motor cars with absolute respect for their originality, craftsmanship and heritage.
Restoring More Than Cars
Every Bugatti has its own history.
Before restoration begins, each vehicle undergoes careful inspection, documentation and historical research. We work closely with every client to establish the most appropriate restoration strategy, balancing originality, preservation and long-term reliability.
Our aim is never simply to rebuild a vehicle. We seek to preserve its identity, retain its historical significance and ensure it can continue to be enjoyed for generations to come.
This thoughtful, collaborative approach has earned the confidence of collectors worldwide, many of whom return to us repeatedly to care for their growing collections.
Engineering Without Compromise
Exceptional restoration depends upon exceptional engineering.
Over many years we have invested heavily in advanced machine tools, specialist equipment and one of the most comprehensive collections of original Bugatti factory drawings outside Molsheim.
This allows us to manufacture precision components that are no longer available, reproduce complex assemblies to original specifications and solve engineering challenges that few other restoration specialists can undertake.
Today we manufacture thousands of individual Bugatti parts, supplying restorers, workshops and collectors around the world while continually expanding our vintage Bugatti parts catalogue as new requirements emerge.
Beyond the Workshop
Our relationship with clients rarely ends when a restoration is complete.
The Gentry team regularly supports owners participating in prestigious international rallies, concours and touring events, providing technical assistance before, during and after each event.
This practical real-world experience continually informs our restoration work, enabling us to improve reliability, performance and drivability without compromising originality.
Whether maintaining a concours-winning show car or preparing a Bugatti for thousands of miles on today's roads, we understand the level of preparation and precision engineering these special machines demand.
A Family Business with a Global Reputation
Although our reputation extends worldwide, Gentry Restorations remains proudly family-owned. Today Stephen, his sister Tina and daughters Ellie and Molly are involved in the business continuing the legacy that originated over a quarter of a century ago.
Our clients value the personal relationships we build, the transparency with which we work and the meticulous attention we devote to every project.
Integrity, technical excellence and genuine enthusiasm for vintage Bugattis remain at the heart of everything we do.
These principles have guided the business since 2000 and continue to define Gentry Restorations today.
